I think it’s easier to know what not to do rather than what to do. When deciding what you shoud not to do, you’re choosing with your heart and most of the time for this kind of decisions it is the best option.
So why you should not start a company?
You do not have true drivers
Starting a company is hard (not harder than being a top performer in a company, just different), it’s hard because no one will tell you what to do. So you need to have a driver, that you can ignite from time to time to get back on track, to get the motivation to push yourself and do more. Mine grew when I saw my father working hard in a company and not getting the recognition or salary from his boss. He started his job at 5am and finished at 8pm until his late days, that was crazy, he enjoyed the job but it was hard for him. Now I knimow there are alternatives, but to me it grows my driver, I did not want to be a employee (It was obvious when I read the story of the Starbucks founder). Another one for me is that I want yo be free, free of everything, have the ability to do what I want when I want, being independent. When I was young I had a terrible accident, where I almost died, and during recovery, iI was not dependant I have to ask people to help me everytime. I hated that, the feeling was horrible, when I work I like to be independant. These are ones of my drivers, they help me go through difficult periods in my life, in my company and keep myself straight.
Your curiosity is low
This is important, you have to be curious about everything, you need to learn a lot of things, your knowledge has to be broad: accountant, selling, finance, human resources, product and so on. Read a lot, learn from others, ask questions, make sure to question yourself, you have to learn everytime.
